About Spangenberg Shibley & Liber LLP

Personal Injury Lawyers Serving Cleveland with Pride

The team at Spangenberg Shibley & Liber LLP shares an unwavering commitment to achieving exceptional results for our clients. We are the authority on medical malpractice, personal injury, and civil rights law in the Cleveland region. We have served this area for decades, winning over $1 billion in verdicts and settlements for our clients since 1946.

History of Spangenberg Shibley & Liber LLP

The firm now known as Spangenberg Shibley & Liber was established in 1946 by Craig Spangenberg, one of the nation’s premier trial lawyers. Spangenberg was dedicated to fighting for those who needed it most – understanding the legal system was unfairly skewed in favor of defendants, which are often large corporations. He worked to bring balance to the legal system and persistently served as an advocate and voice for those without. The precedent Spangenberg set for our firm remains today. Our team is driven by a culture of care, united by a shared set of values, and ultimately committed to bettering the wellbeing of our clients and community.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q:What is the statute of limitations in Ohio?

A:The statute of limitations to start civil cases varies by type of case. For personal injury cases, the standard time limit is two years. Usually, this time limit begins the day the injury occurred.

  • Q:Do I need a nursing home abuse lawyer?

A:Some signs of nursing home abuse include bedsores, broken/fractured bones, dehydration, malnutrition, infection, cuts/tears/lacerations, unusual exhaustion, welts, burns, or bruises. Abuse is also not limited to physical injuries. Emotional abuse, caregiver neglect, and sexual assault are other forms of abuse. Your loved one may not be able to properly communicate everything going on, so your vigilance to unusual behaviors or injuries can be crucial to a case. If you suspect he or she is being mistreated in any way by nursing home staff, it is a good idea to speak to a lawyer.

  • Q:What questions should I ask an auto wreck attorney?

A:To get the most out of your experience, it’s a good idea to ask 1) What deadlines are involved? 2) How long will the process take? 3) How can you best represent my case? 4) What damages can I reasonably expect to recover? 5) Can future medical expenses be recovered? 6) What information can I provide? 7) What should I say to the insurance company? 8) What costs are involved? A good auto accident attorney will feel comfortable answering all these questions and more.

  • Q:How much is a lawyer for personal injury?

A:Some lawyers will charge upfront fees. Spangenberg Shibley & Liber LLP does not charge anything unless we win the case, so there is no upfront cost whatsoever.
